Montville Transfer Station

Flag as Inappropriate

The Montville Transfer Station is a place where people are making a difference, day in and day out. At the entry gate, James Kernozek says his job is to "keep everybody happy," a task he seems to enjoy. He makes sure people have the right stickers on their cars, and know where they're going and what they're doing.

Inside the transfer station you'll find all sorts of receptacles for disposing of and recycling a variety of materials. From oil to mattresses to air conditioners and refrigerators, from yard waste to plastic to furniture and building materials, there's a place for everything.

Deep inside the transfer station, Flo Turner and Lynn McAlpine, transfer station attendants, direct residents to the right places to dispose of or recycle their stuff and keep the place as neat as a transfer station could possibly be. They've helped change things, too, pushing for various recycling programs and drives, helping to save the town money and save the environment at the same time.
