Another Recovery Social
Saturday, 6 p.m. - Celebrate recovery with open mic night along with a variety of performers. Additional performers are being sought. Group discounts are available. All proceeds support faith based housing for individuals in recovery from drug/alcohol addiction. Tickets and information can be obtained by calling 860-204-1811.

Cookbook Author Event
Saturday, 7 p.m. - Come out for a presentation and book signing of Wintersweet: Seasonal Desserts to Warm the Home by Tammy Donroe Inman. The cookbook author event will feature free samples, free coffee, and plenty of laughs. Free admission. Signed books will be available for purchase. Donroe Inman is a Boston-area writer, mother, cook, obsessive blogger, pseudo-photographer, mushroom grower, cryptogram lover, and vagabond public school teacher. She's been called other things, too. A graduate of Tufts University and the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts, Inman sharpened her knives in the test kitchen of Cook's Illustrated magazine and the PBS television show America's Test Kitchen. After that, she worked as a writer and editor for Boston Magazine. Her blog, Food on the Food, gets thousands of hits each week, and has been praised by The Boston Globe, The Chicago Tribune, Edible Boston, and Saveur.com. Donroe Inman's work has also been featured in Yankee Magazine, Tufts Magazine, Home & Garden, Elegant Wedding, Cape Cod Life, Culinate, BlogHer, and Serious Eats.

Saturday, 9 p.m. - The ultimate Neil Young tribute experience makes its debut at the Six String Cafe, in New London. Music starts at 9 p.m.

Sunday, 1 p.m. - Long-time New London resident Cassandra Davis-Bunkley makes her debut with Transformation for Trauma to teach others how to live life to the fullest and walk in their God ordained purpose and destiny.
