Volunteers Replace Fence at VFW Post
Volunteers And Donors Made Replacing The Collapsed Fence Possible
Volunteers gathered Saturday morning at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10060 on Raymond Hill Road to replace a collapsed fence on the property. The team of volunteers included staff from the Collins & Jewell Company, a Norwich-based industrial installation group.
The fence collapsed under the weight of this year’s heavy snowfall, and badly needed to be replaced in order to keep the building up to code. Dwayne Reynolds, Project Manager at Collins & Jewell Company and a VFW auxiliary member, approached his boss about donating the equipment and shop space. Reynolds also found donors to help purchase the materials to make the fence and volunteers from Collins & Jewell Company to help set up the fence.
“It was his baby from the beginning,” says Chris Jewell, Chief Financial Officer of Collins & Jewell Company.

After laboring throughout the morning to set up the fence, Reynolds and the volunteers stood back to view their work.
"It think it turned out great," says Mowrey, admiring the fence's shadow cast in the afternoon light.
