Help is needed to clean up storm debris (branches and leaves) on the school grounds.  If you are willing to assist, please contact Mr. Egan at 860-235-6377.

Caution:  Take care when parking beneath trees.  There are many loose and broken branches.

HELP OFFERED

Montville Fire Company, on Route 163, has a set up in the parking lot for people to get non-potable water to flush toilets. This will be open all day today.

Oakdale Fire Company also has non-portable water for residents. Please bring your own containers.

Superintendent Pam Aubin says Montville High School will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. for showers "until further notice." You can bing containers for drinking water and fill them up there, as well.

The Montville Youth Service Bureau's Hire a Teen program has kids who are willing to work for a fee, if you need help cleaning up your yard. It takes a little while to make the arrangements. To find out more, click . (It was a wintertime story, but the arrangements are the same).

GOOD IDEAS

Assistant Town Clerk Melinda Roberts writes: "My husband had a genius idea last night……  Since we still have no power.  We have solar lights that light up our walkway and deck.  So last night he brought some of them in, placed them around the house, living room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom.  It is a great safe, cost-free source of lighting, they worked great and gave us a lot of light. This morning we put them back outside to recharge. It is a great idea that you may want to share on Patch."
