Lions Club Trees Arrive! [VIDEO]

The shipment came in on time, and smelling like Christmas

If you walk through the Subway end of the Tri-Town Foods parking lot today, it will smell like you're in a pine forest.

Four hundred Christmas trees came in on a flatbed truck on Friday, all the way from Canada. They are soft and fresh - and cut last week, says Pat Dougherty, who heads the Christmas tree project.

Last year, the tree shipment was delayed because of a death in the driver's family. This year, the trees came in around noon on Friday, and were unloaded by 2 p.m.

Prices run from $30 to $40, the same as last year, says club President Brian Devine. The lot is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, and weekdays from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Lions Club member Tiffany Williams says that whoever is manning the lot will help you secure the tree to your car. That's free, she says. And smiles and Christmas wishes are free, too!
