FEMA Flood Hazard Maps
Federal Emergency Management Agency ( FEMA ) flood maps for New London county are being updated.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency ( FEMA ) is updating the flood zone hazard maps including those for New London county. The new maps are scheduled to become effective on July 18, 2011.
Residents should review these maps because if their level of risk changes to a higher risk of flooding they may be required to carry flood insurance on their property if they have a federally backed mortgage loan.
The new flood zone hazard maps will be available for viewing at the Town Hall located at 310 Norwich-New London Turnpike. The number at the Town Hall is 860-848-3030. Remember the maps go into effect July 18 so they may not be available yet.
