REGIONAL EVENTS RAISE FUNDS FOR THE TERRI BRODEUR BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION

July 1, 2014, New London, CT:  Raising funds for a great cause such as breast cancer research is an all-year idea. There were three Springtime events that raised several thousands of dollars for the Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation, which commits 100% of all funds donated to fight this dreaded disease.

Over two weekends in late March, funds were raised by a group called Team 911, local people who believe in the Power of Courage, Strength and Hope. Also contributing to those several events were the Rotten Apple Bar & Pub in Groton which held an event with vendor tables and a rock band named “One Nite Stand” who donated their music. The New London Coalition of Motorcycle Clubs was a large contributor when they gave TBBCF a check for $500 donated from their membership, bringing the total raised to over $800.

When Elaine Brunelle, an Assistant Branch Manager at the Chelsea Groton Bank in Niantic won the prestigious George W. Strouse “Spirit” Award, for representing the values and spirit of Chelsea Groton, she decided to ‘pay it forward’ and donated her $1,000 award check to TBBCF. Elaine is committed to being the Procurement Walk Team Captain for the upcoming Walk Across SE CT in October, furthering her commitment to the organization and its cause.

In early June, Frank and Anne Rochette pulled together their Tag Sale at Olde Mistick Village to benefit TBBCF. Olde Mistick Village donated the space for this event, which collected over $2,000 for the Foundation.

The Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation commits that 100% of gross fundraising dollars goes directly to breast cancer research and has granted over $2.7 million for breast cancer research since 2006. The organization’s primary fundraising event is the Walk Across SE CT which takes place the first Saturday of October.
