Heat Advisory In Effect In Montville Until 8 P.M.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for New London County, in effect until 8 p.m. on Monday evening.

The heat index is in the 100 degree range due to temperatures in the 90s and dew points in the upper 60s. Forecasters expect the highest heat index temperatures will occur in the afternoon and early evening.

The service recommends drinking plenty of fluids, staying out of the sun, using air conditioning, and checking on relatives and neighbors. 

High temperatures are expected throughout the week. The National Weather Service predicts mostly sunny conditions with temperatures reaching between 88 degrees and 92 degrees.

Heat advisories are issued when the heat index is between 100 and 104 degrees.
