Daily Five: Steve Elci & Friends, 'Your' Olympic Photos, and Ticks-Be-Gone!

Cinco things you really need to know.

 

1. A hot, summer day will fade into a clear, cool night. And bonus, a lovely waxing crescent moon will hang in the sky. So nice; love summer. Plus, a lovely night is good news for No. 2, below. 

2. Another awesome Summer Concert at Camp Oakdale is set for tonight at 6 p.m. And the weather is supposed to be perfect for who will bring you their “Edutainment,” described as an “energetic show with great themes." The group promises to teach kids about language, imagination, and the world around us, but with a show so full of fun, everyone will leave smiling.” Come and have a blast with family and friends. Montville Youth Wrestling will be on site with concession fare for sale.

3. Considering we are the birthplace of Lyme – a dubious distinction because of the number of tick-borne disease cases found here in 1975 – and ‘tis the season, read .  Let’s keep ourselves and our families – all species – safe this summer. 4. Tonight’s in Town Hall has The Villages affordable housing proposal on its agenda. The site plan is supposed to be presented. Wonder what the fate will be of this project that promises to bring jobs, tax revenue and 120 affordable housing units to Montville.

 5. to help people feel part of what’s happening, if it’s across the street or across the pond. Share your favorite photo of you, your kids, your friends, your neighbors, or a pet (Bird? Cat? Dog? Frog? You get the idea.) participating in a sport that is part of the Summer Olympics. Did you know there are 26 games? And they run the gamut from archery and badminton to taekwondo and volleyball. So post a picture in this article by Friday at 5.
