Your Take: Red Sox Fire Bobby Valentine - Problem Solved?

After leading the team to its worst season since 1965, Bobby Valentine is fired Thursday as the manager of the Red Sox. Take our poll and leave your thoughts in the comments.

The Boston Red Sox on Thursday fired manager Bobby Valentine.

According to ESPN.com, "Our 2012 season was disappointing for many reasons," Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington said.

"No single issue is the reason, and no single individual is to blame. We've been making personnel changes since August, and we will continue to do so as we build a contending club."

Valentine is a native of Stamford.

Cherington said he will lead the search for Boston's next manager.
