Montville's Robert Johnson Is Up for an Award

Southeastern Connecticut Chapter of the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame will hold its annual award night at 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, at Ocean Beach Park. The foundation honors 17 scholar-athlete winners from Eastern Connecticut as well as seven adult award winners.

The athletes who will be honored this year include Connor Frizzell (Griswold), Alexander Stenner (Plainfield), James Connelly (Stonington), Cameron Gonzalez (Fitch), Brett Salter (NFA), Zach Larkin (Killingly), Matt Hemm (Bacon Academy), Nick Arsenault (Woodstock), Robert Johnson (Montville), Richard Purdy (Waterford), John Trudel (Ledyard), Carlos Lozada (New London), Zachary O’Friol (St. Bernard), Will Pompa (Windham), Mitchell King (Valley Regional), Chris Kohanski (East Lyme) and Paul Hahn-Rauch (Coast Guard Academy).

The adult awards winners this year are Lou Gabordi (Dick North Administrator Award), Jemal Davis (Active Coach of the Year), Bill Donovan (Bill Cawley Media Award), Donald Macrino (Person of the Year), Gil Varjas (Retired Coach Award), Ray Pollick (Officials award) and John Fontana (Distinguished American Award).
