Montville Softball Finishes Season At 10-10 With Win Over New London

Montville high school softball team closed its 2013 season with a 5-0 sweep of New London on Monday.

Of the five runs scored by the Indians two were worry scored on an inside the park home run it by Caitlin Perkins. It was the last regular season game for Montville, which is now in the running for the Class M CIAC Tournament.

Christina Nissen, mother of right fielder and designated hitter Alyssa Nissen, said Montville has a young team predominated by sophomores. She said the players have also previously played alongside one another on recreational teams.

"They definitely have a great team camaraderie, because they've been playing together for a while," said Nissen.
