Goal! MHS Boys Soccer Team Awarded Prestigious Academic Honor

Congratulations boys and coach Colin Delaney.

This just isn’t any award.

The Montville High School boys’ soccer team was recently honored with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for the 2012-13 season.

The Indians maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.37 over the academic year to earn the award!

A total of only 140 high school boys’ teams from throughout the U.S. earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award. The award recognizes exemplary performance in the classroom as a team during the 2012-13 academic year. A team needs to post a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award.

Montville was the only local team to receive this honor and was one of only four high school boys’ programs in Connecticut, joined by Sacred Heart Academy, Staples High School, and South Windsor High School.
