Daily life is busy, between early rise times and after school activities we miss the chance at times to let our children know we care about what is happening in their lives. Everyday my 13 year old son ask me "how was your day mom" and I ask him the same. At times it seems that we are running in and out doors but we find time to connect over dinner, betimes routines, or him texting me on his ride home on the bus.
If we let them know that we care about all parts of their day, hopefully when the problems or issues become bigger they will allow us as parents to problem solve with them during those times as well.
