Video: 10 Murphy School Readers Are Now Riders

Two Pupils in Each Grade Win Bikes, Helmets and Locks as Part of the Read-to-Ride Program

Four hundred Murphy School kids walked into the gym on Friday and took their places as quietly as 400 kids can do anything, and waited happily to hear whether they would win bikes.

Ruthanne Collins of Waterford was at the school to give the bikes, along with Read to Ride President Ben Lathrop and Montville Town Council member Billy Caron. Murphy Principal Jeffrey Newton drew the names of the 10 who won the bikes.

As Collins said, though the bikes went to 10 readers, everyone who participated in the program is a winner.
