"Integrated Security will be installing the camera, monitor and buzzer system portion tomorrow morning at 7 a.m.," she said in an emailed statement in response to a Montville Patch question about the lack of a locking security mechanism at Tyl.

Aubin and other officials said that the plan to install security at the school was budgeted but planned for a later date. The events in Newtown Friday when a gunman forced his way into Sandy Hook Elementary School where he gunned down 20 first graders and six educators including the school principal changed those plans.

And in addition to the security system planned, law enforcement will be seen throughout the district.

"We will have an increased presence from the Montville Police Department at all schools," Aubin added.
