Two Montville High School Students Earn Advanced Placement Honors

Matthew Navetta and Wilson Wong both scored 3 or above on the tests

Two Montville High School students from the Class of 2012 - Matthew A. Navetta and Wilson Wong - have been named Advanced Placement Scholars by the College Board, according to a press release,

The honor recognized their achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement Examinations. 

AP Examinations, which students take in May after completing  college-level courses at their high school, are graded on a 5-point scale, with 5 as the highest score.

Most of the nation’s colleges and universities award credit, advanced class placement, or both, for grades of 3 or higher, the press release says.

Navetta, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Navetta of 12 D’Amato Drive, Oakdale, has been named an AP Scholar for having received scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams.  Matthew Navetta received an average score of 3.67.

Wong, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lung Wong of 3 Tory Drive, Uncasville, has been named an AP Scholar with Honor for having received an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.

Wong attained an average score of 4.0.
