Murphy School's Principal Leaving for Westbrook
Jeffrey Newton will become the director of special eduation there
Jeffrey Newton, principal of the Dr. Charles E. Murphy School, is leaving to become the director of special education in Westbrook.
Murphy’s letter of resignation was read at the Board of Education meeting on Tuesday.
“Montville is truly a wonderful place to work,” Newton wrote. He said that in his seven years in Montville, he has grown, both professionally and personally.

“There are such wonderful people there. The Dr. Charles E. Murphy School and the Montville school system will always be in my heart,” he wrote.
Board of Education Chairman Dave Rowley said the letter was accepted with regret.
