Montville School Board Wins State 'Distinction Award'

Montville schools to receive Connecticut Association of Boards of Education award at CABE and Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents November convention.


According to the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education, school boards and superintendents deserving of the awards are "characterized by their ability to work together as teams.”

The CABE Board Recognition Awards are designed to recognize Boards which fulfill 22 of the 34 Level One criteria and the Board of Distinction Award is only for boards which have achieved Level One distinction at least twice in the prior four years are eligible to receive the Board of Distinction Award. Boards must achieve at least two Level Two items in each Level Two category to receive this award.

The award will be presented Friday Nov. 16 at the CABE/CAPSS convention at the Mystic Marriott in Groton.

Maybe the board should take accounting classes.

Pete, I agree that way they will be up to date when the school board takes over the town finances. After all it will save the town about $90k when they eliminate the current finance director. Plus the BOE gas already shown how great they are managing our money by having a surplus and then using it wisely for our kids education. Unlike town council that fights and creates law suits.
