UPDATED: Friday in Montville: Snow Day!

Update at 10:40 a.m.:

DMV has just canceled all road tests for today.

And affetr just checking in with Public Works, most if not all roads have had a first pass of the plows; crews are heading back out for round two. 

Update at 9 a.m.:

Montville Emergency Management Director Raymond Occhialini tells Patch that the main roadways in town are stilll slippery, we have moderate snow and, thankfully, no major accidents to report.  

And Montville resident and Town Councilor Chuck Longton is reporting six inches of snow on the ground in Oakdale Heights.

With a forecast for today of steady snow until late morning/early afternoon, which makes travel dangerous, Montville Public Schools will be closed today, March 8, 2013.

We’ll still have strong winds, albeit not as gusty as the past two days. The National Weather Service says we can expect an additional two to three inches of snow before it lets up later today.

Cancellations/Closings/Delays 

Montville Town Hall opens at 10 am

Montville Senior Center is closed

There is no parking ban in effect

Montville Public Schools are closed with no afterschool activities

Saint Bernard School is closed

Mohegan Tribe (Business) is closed

Montville Union Baptist Church, no morning activities

DMV has canceled ALL road tests today 

Teddy Bear Hollow Day Care in Uncasville is closed today

Saint John the Evangelist Church 
22 Maple Ave. has canceled its Soup Supper and Stations of the Cross tonight.
