We Are Not Exempt From Severe Weather

New England Weather

Living in Connectiut we are prone to winter storms, hurricanes, severe thunderstorms, and tornadic activity. Since I have lived in Montville, 48 years, there have been two hurricanes Gloria and Bob, so many winter storms, severe thunder storms, ice storms, flood and two incident of tornadic activity. We should be prepared all of the time not just prior to the storm watch or warning.

Back on July 7, 2009, there was a severe thunderstorm late in the afternoon. We heard what sounded like train barreling though the Town Hall parking lot, then we received 911 call about a suspected tornado on Maple Avenue.

There was damage to a mobile home and shed and many trees were uprooted or twisted apart. Even though this was about one hundred feet wide and a 1/4  mile long it still did alot of damage. I have attached a few pictures of the damage. Please be prepared for anything New England weather can deal you! Remeber if you do not like the weather, wait a minute it is bound to change.
