A Message from the Montville Fire Marshal's Office

Halloween and More !!!

As Halloween approaches, the ghosts and goblins become anxious to roam the streets and neighborhoods to collect their trick or treat goodies.

There are always some tricksters who, in reality, are vandals. They damage others' property because they think it's funny. Everyone must keep their eyes open and report things that don't seem right.

The state says, "If you see something, say something." Don't think someone else is going to say something. Do your part as a responsible citizen.

On November 6, 2011 we set our clocks back one hour. Remember: "Change your clocks; Change the batteries in your smoke detectors." They really do save lives.

We are still looking for information regarding the house fire last Sunday morning at 291 Oxoboxo Cross Road. The reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the arsonist is now at $3,000 thanks to Chief Murphy and Scott Herman.

As I said earlier, if you see (or saw) something, do say something. You can call (860) 848-1175 or 1-800-84ARSON if you have information.

Everyone have a safe Halloween!
