WPCA Schedules Special Meeting

The Focus of the Meeting Is a Vote on Whether to Bring a $1.5 Million Bond Proposal to the Town Council

The Water Pollution Control Authority has scheduled a special meeting for tonight at 5:30 p.m. in the Town Council chamber.

The purpose of the meeting is to consider and act on a resolution to request from the Town Council bonding in the amount of $1,500,000 (one million five hundred thousand dollars) for capital upgrades at the WPCA Treatment System.

The WPCA discussed this idea at its most recent meeting. Finance Director Terry Hart spoke about the possibility of the WPCA piggybacking its bonding on the public service building bond as a way to save administrative costs. Hart said that bonding can cost between $30,000 and $30,000.
