How much have the two candidates for mayor raised for their campaigns? And does it matter?

Ron McDaniel, Democratic candidate for the position of mayor of Montville, had raised $10,570 as of Nov. 1, according to documents filed in the Town Clerk’s office.

Donna Jacobson, unaffiliated candidate endorsed by the Republican and Independence for Montville parties, had raised $2,925 by the Nov. 1 filing deadline.

In the current filing period, McDaniel raised $4,400. The largest donation to his campaign in this period was $1,000, from Susan Stergio of Waterford.

In the current filing period, Jacobson raised $1,235.09. The largest donation to her campaign in this period was $400 from Karl Liebig of Uncasville.

As of Nov. 1, McDaniel had $1,465.17 remaining. Jacobson had $149.18.
