What Can Connecticut Leaders Do About Gun Violence?

Today US Senators Murphy and Blumenthal will gather together a range of Connecticut leaders to talk about reducing gun violence in America.

U.S. Senators Chris Murphy and Richard Blumenthal will hold a roundtable discussion in Hartford’s North End today at 1 p.m. on reducing gun violence in America. Joining them will be state and local elected officials, local law enforcement representatives and faith and community leaders to help begin what they are calling "a larger conversation on possible federal responses to the tragic gun violence from Newtown to cities and towns across Connecticut and the country."

The session will be at Parker Memorial Community Center, 2621 Main Street, Hartford.

Where do you think this conversation should begin, and what should it entail in order to reduce gun violence in Connecticut and around the nation? Please add your thoughts in the comments.

I'll hold my comments to see what these two do or don't do as far as gun control goes.I think most prople are against assualt weapons and as far as gun violence lets see what they come up with, I hope they don't take any advice from Sen.Looney and St.Rep. Dargan and what they propose.

The end objective of some people in Congress and the Connecticut General Assembly is to disembowel or repeal the Second Amendment and Sections 7 and 15, Article First, of the Connecticut Constitution. For those of you not familiar with our state's constitution, here are those sections... Article First… Section 7. The people shall be secure in their persons, houses, papers and possessions from unreasonable searches or seizures; and no warrant to search any place, or to seize any person or things, shall issue without describing them as nearly as may be, nor without probable cause supported by oath or affirmation. Section 15. Every citizen has a right to bear arms in defense of himself and the state. I won't go into their purpose, someone will call me paranoid or worse.

Howard, here we go again. Your looking behind bushes for things that only exist in your mind. There is not a scintilla of evidence to support your position. I'm beginning to worry about you.

See what I mean... It only took 40 minutes for me to be labeled.

Howard --I Believe in our second amendment rights as I believe in the Constitution and ALL the AMENDENTS.We should hold our repersenatives accountable to uphold our rights as they took an oath to do so,as did I.
