Vice President Will Speak At Coast Guard Academy Commencement
Joe Biden will be in New London on May 22
Vice President Joe Biden will deliver this year's keynote address at the Coast Guard Academy's commencement.
The 132nd commencement will take place at 11 a.m. on May 22 at Cadet Memorial Field. The commencement will take place in Leamy Hall in the event of inclement weather. Attendance is by invitation only.
"Commencement is always a special time here, but it is particularly memorable when the Vice President of the United States is here to present the commissions to our new ensigns," said Rear Admiral Sandra Stosz, Coast Guard Academy superintendent, in a statement. "This will be a wonderful opportunity to showcase the academy and the city of New London."

Biden delivered the keynote address at the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2012. Recent keynote speakers at the Coast Guard Academy commencement have included Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano in 2012 and President Barack Obama in 2011.
