Here are the municipal event scheduled for this week:

Monday, Oct. 24

  • The Public Safety Commission has scheduled its regular monthly meeting for 7 p.m. in the Town Council chamber.

On the agenda are monthly statistics from the fire and police departments, animal control and the town building official. Discussions are scheduled about the progress of the public safety building and public safety plan.

New business includes discussions of staffing at the Chesterfield Fire Company, of the firefighter hiring process, of establishing a committee to standardize procedures across fire departments, and about a training program for paid firefighters.

Tuesday, Oct. 25

  • The Finance Committee is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. in Room 203 of Montville Town Hall.
  • The Planning & Zoning Commission is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. in the Town Council chamber.

Wednesday, Oct. 26

  • The Public Works/Solid Waste Standing Committee meeting scheduled for tonight has been canceled.

Thursday, Oct. 27

  • The Public Safety Building Committee is scheduled to hold its regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m. in Room 203 of Montville Town Hall.

Saturday, Oct. 29

  • The nonprofit tag sale, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Fair Oaks building is to benefit Boy Scout Troop 21.
  • The Parks & Recreation’s Trick or Trunk event takes place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Tyl Middle School. There will be candy, prizes, and a costume parade, which starts at 6:45 p.m.!
