Schools Superintendent to Parents: 'Share Your Ideas' at BOE Budget Forums

Pamela Aubin seeks input from parents, guardians and community members on their budget priorities

From Schools Supt. Pamela Aubin:

On behalf of the Board of Education and Administration, I urge you to attend and participate in one of the upcoming Montville Board of Education Budget Forums. The purpose of these forums is to seek input from parents/guardians and community members on your budget priorities for Montville Public Schools.  The Board encourages community input prior to budget development, to ensure that a variety of opinions and ideas are considered before any action is taken by the Board.  All ideas are important.  These can include ideas about possible cost savings/efficiencies, ideas for new programs/initiatives to address improved school security, and/or enhancements to the educational program to best meet the needs of our young people.

This is not a budget presentation.  This is an informal opportunity to gain a better understanding of budget assumptions, constraints and guidelines and priorities while sharing your ideas with the Superintendent and Board of Education.

Two budget forums have been scheduled for the following dates:

Tuesday, January 8, 2013, 5:30 p.m., at Montville High Library/Media Center; and

Wednesday, January 9, 2013, 5:30 p.m., at Montville High Library/Media Center

Feel free to attend either session.  If you are unable to attend, feel free to email me your ideas at paubin@montvilleschools.org.
