Three years and eight months after the first Public Safety Building Committee and much longer from the first time the idea was even brought forth, the Montville Public Safety Building officially opens its doors this Saturday, Jan. 12 at 10 a.m. beginning with a ribbon cutting and public reception. The ceremony will be followed by a public open house with tours and then at 3 p.m. special VIP tours for kids.
Even before 2008 when an ad hoc committee was formed to study the feasibility of a new public safety building the idea was hatched and nurtured and ultimately, the 2008 Council charged the Public Safety Building Committee with the formidable task of getting the building built.
With Montville Town Planner Marcia Vlaun the point person and the committee overseeing the progress, the building is finally complete and the community is invited to take an inside look, check out the invitation attached and RSVP to Town Hall so they can get an idea of how many people might show up.
This is your building, Montville. You authorized it, you paid for it, and it’s yours.
Take a look at the videos and photographs of the progress since Day 1. See you Saturday!
