October Police, Fire Activity Reported

Public Safety Commission also chooses a group to perform the public safety study

The Public Safety Commission, meeting Monday, agreed unanimously that Mayor Ron McDaniel should extend an offer to Almont Associates to perform the public safety study.

At $48,600, Almont’s bid was not the lowest – that was the $39,700 bid from a firm called Matrix – but Commissioner Tom McNally said Almont has professionals with hands-on experience in emergency services.

A total of $50,000 has been budgeted for the public safety study.
