New Communications Tower Is Up

It won't be in use for a while, though

A gigantic crane pulled into town Friday to put the communications tower up, on the site of the new public safety building.

Fire Marshal Ray Occhialini said that a crew from Corrigan-Radgowski prison cleared the site initially, several months ago - for free. The foundation was poured a while back, and the first 20 feet of the tower went up earlier in the week.

The current system will be in use for a while, as cables and other equipment must be moved and connected to the new tower.
