Montville Youth Services Bureau Is Busier Than Santa's Elves

Helping to make the season bright for Montville teens and the community at large.

What’s the Montville Youth Services Bureau up to, you ask? Okay, maybe you didn’t ask, but trust me; you’ll want to know!

Let’s start with the Penny Drive. This is an awesome grass roots drive where the concept of every little bit helps is fully realized. This is from the amazing Kimberly Grant, program developer for MYSB:

"2012 Penny Drive: This year’s Penny Drive is benefitting Montville Social Services. We are collecting pennies (and other loose change!) until the end of 2012. You can drop off pennies at the Town Hall, Senior Center and Youth Center! MYSB’s Youth Action Council and After School Program will be wrapping up the year with a Wake-A-Thon and will be looking for people to sponsor them to stay up all night! Remember, “Every penny counts!”

Next up is the 2012 Stocking Drive. Another effort by MYSB to help make sure that the Montville teens who are most in need have the holiday cheer they deserve! More from Kimberly:

"2012 Stocking Drive. MYSB is partnering up with Montville Social Services to collect $5 or $10 gift cards to make the Holidays brighter for Montville teens. Last year we collected over 200 gift cards and are looking to do the same this year! Gift cards can be to places like Wal-Mart, Subway, Dunkin Donuts, iTunes, McDonald’s, etc. We will also accept cash donations."

And then there’s the Holiday Parade. This is a great way to kick off the holiday season. Kimberly explains:

"The Holiday Parade is Sunday, Dec. 2 and MYSB will be opening our doors and will be giving out free hot chocolate, and hot apple cider during and after the parade at the Youth Center! We will also be selling bags of popcorn for $1 and will have baked goods for sale! Please bring in a boxed or canned good, or a gift card for our Stocking Drive to help Montville Social Services and receive a free framed picture with Santa!"
