Montville Power Outages Literally All Over The Map

The percentages of homes without power has run the gamut from 20 percent to 100 percent, but CL&P and Mayor Ron McDaniel say some homes have to be taken off-line so wires can be repaired.

The majority of Montville remains without power.

And while there is no forecast of when we’ll be at 100 percent power, officials say people need to be patient.  And as to the ever-changing percentages of homes without power reflected by the CL&P outage map, there’s a reason.

“It is changing by the minute,” said Mayor Ronald McDaniel. “At one point 65% of the town was restored, but circuits have to be de-energized at times to make repairs.”

In fact, while as of 10 a.m. 28 percent or 350,382 homes are without power statewide,  CL&P has said they need to take people off line to repair wires so it’s an up and down process.

McDaniel said the town is working non-stop and around the clock.

“Crews are in town working on road clearings and restoration,” he said. And offered that he has “no estimates on times of restoration.”
