Montville Now on Government Auction Website Selling Retired Cars, Trucks

How about a 2001 Ford Crown Victoria for $1,500? It runs! Hurry, 13 days left in the auction on Municibid. Would you buy a used car from the town?

Town Finance Director Terry Hart and Public Works Director Donald W. Bourdeau, Jr., agreed that selling unused, outdated or retired municipal equipment could help defray some of the costs associated with the purchase of new equipment. Now, the town has embarked on a novel way to unload that equipment by joining thousands of communities across the nation by auctioning those goods online.

The popular online police and municipal auction site Municibid has a new vendor; the town of Montville!  Up for auction now are a couple of Crown Victoria’s, a white panel van and trucks.

Both Hart and Bourdeau shared the news at a July Finance committee meeting.

To see what the town has on the block – you never know, a 10-year-old Ford Crown Victoria with less than 120,000 miles for $1,500 sounds like a good deal to me -- check out Municibid.
