Montville Meetings This Week Oct. 22 - Oct.

It's all about the public this week; public safety commission, public works and public safety building commissions all meet.

The Public Safety Commission meets tonight to, among myriad other agenda items, go over reports and discuss the public safety building. The Commission meets at 7 in Town Hall, Council Chambers.

Also Monday night, the Town Council’s Town Administration/Rules & Procedures Standing Committee meets at 5:30 p.m. in Montville Town Hall, room 102. At the time this article was published, there was no posted agenda.

The Planning and Zoning Commission has canceled its October meeting, originally scheduled for Tuesday at 7.

On Wednesday, the Public Works/ Solid Waste Standing Committee meets at 5:30 p.m., in Monville Town Hall room 102. As is the case with the admin committee, at the time this article was published, there was no posted agenda.

The Public Safety Building Committee meets at 6 p.m. in room 203; it also has not posted its agenda by Sunday night.

Did someone miss something? The Public Works and Town Administration meetings can't be held unless their agenda's were filed with the Town Clerk at least last Friday. Ct Freedom of Information says (c) The agenda of the regular meetings of every public agency, except for the General Assembly, shall be available to the public and shall be filed, not less than twenty-four hours before the meetings to which they refer.

The Public Works Meeting is on Wednesday - they have until tomorrow to file, right?

The Town Administration meeting's agenda was not posted on the town's website, as per usual for all public meetings within 24 hours. I learned after a call to Town Clerk Lisa Terry that the agenda was not provided in time and the meeting has since been canceled. The Public Works meeting, slated for Wednesday, also does not as of yet have a posted agenda, but it has 24 hours before the meeting to do so.
