Ray Occhialini has the goods on shelters, pets, and how to get on the alert system

Fire Marshal Ray Occhialini says that the most important thing you can do to be safe during the hurricane is to make a plan now!

If you need to leave your home, you and your family should know how you're making the decision, where you're going to meet, and what you're going to bring.

Occhialini stresses that www.ready.gov, which he has mentioned often in his blog posts, is an excellent source of information for preparations.

Be sure everyone knows the number, and has a cell phone, coins for a payphone, or a prepaid phone care.
