Finance Committee, Public Works and Commission on Aging Make Up the List

Monday, May 30

The Memorial Day holiday is today. It’s a federal holiday; all state and local government offices are closed, as are banks and some businesses. There is no mail delivery.

The Finance Committee has a meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. in Room 203 of Montville Town Hall.

Wednesday, June 1

The Public Works/Solid Waste Sub-Committee has a special meeting scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in Room 102 of Montville Town Hall.

On the agenda are discussions on the adopt-a-road program, road repairs and paving, a proposed metal collection ordinance and more. In new business, there’s a discussion scheduled of an increase in tipping fees, and the “Pay as you Throw” program.

Thursday, June 2

The Commission on Aging is scheduled to hold its regular monthly meeting at 10 a.m. in the Senior Center library. On the agenda are reports from Kathleen Doherty-Peck, the senior center director, and Billy Caron, Town Council liaison. Discussions on the agenda include an update on the Chicken Soup program, on senior safety zones, and policy and procedure.
