Daily Five: Oxoboxo Brook, Projects' End and An Escaped Prisoner

Your Daily Five. This is an important one.

1. Temperatures in the low 80s, low humidity, lots of sun with an occasional respite form a puffy cumulous carried by light breezes with virtually no chance of rain. Sounds dreamy. That’s out forecast for today! Nice!

2. Roadwork done?  Looks to us like the work so finally done at the intersection of routes 163 and 32.  What do you think of the wall? Some say it blocks the view of the falls. Which by the way is part of number 3, below.

3. Jump on Facebook with us as we explore Montville. Last night I posted a photo of the falls at Routes 163 and 32. So much was revealed: like Oxoboxo is spelled the same going and coming.

4. We will get to the bottom of why the town Montville Patch posted breaking news alert Monday afternoon and we were told Monday that’s the way town officials learned that Thomas Anthony Brum, who has a long arrest and conviction sheet most recently for attempted burglary and failing to appear in court (he’s a habitual absconder apparently) was on the run. The town then could have reached out to the community through the media (like Montville Patch!) and through the reverse 911 systems Mayor Ronald McDaniel said the town has. Hmmm.

5. Are you ready? School starts in 20 days. Is that a good thing? Yes, the first day of school for Montville students is August 27. Whoa. That went fast.
