Monday, Jan. 9

The Board of Education has scheduled a special meeting for 5:30 p.m. in the Montville High School Library/Media Center, to hear budget suggestions from members of the community.

The Montville Town Council is scheduled to meet on Monday at 7 p.m. in the Town Council Chamber in Montville Town Hall.

The agenda includes:

  • A presentation to William Allen from the Economic Development Commission.
  • Apresentation from Al Ippolito and Julie Savin of New Horizons Neighborhood about a proposed affordable-housing project in town
  • A resolution to retain the law firm of Suisman Shapiro as legal counsel for the town.
  • A resolution to “enter into with and deliver to the State of Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection (formerly the Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security) any and all documents which it deems to be necessary or appropriate.”
  • A discussion of the remediation of 14 Bridge St.
  • A motion to schedule a public informational meeting regarding taxes and revaluation for Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 7 p.m. in Town Council Chamber.

Tuesday, Jan. 10

The Planning & Zoning Commission has scheduled a meeting for 7 p.m. in the council chamber in town hall.

The agenda includes:

  • An application for a site plan review for a warehouse addition at 905 Route 32
  • An application for a site plan review for a “commercial accessory structure” of more than 1,000 square feet at 1605 Route 85.
  • Public hearings on special permit applications for two-family homes at 3 and 12 Waters Drive.

Wednesday, Jan. 11

The Zoning Board of Appeals has scheduled a meeting for 7 p.m. in the council chamber in Montville Town Hall. The agenda includes an application for variance to allow chickens to be kept as pets/tick control at 45 Forest Drive.

Thursday, Jan. 12

The Youth Advisory Board has scheduled a special meeting for 6 p.m. in the Montville Youth Center. The agenda includes a discussion of the 2012-2013 budget.

Saturday, Jan. 14

Christmas tree pickup is scheduled for 6 a.m. Have your tree at the curb by 6 a.m., and the town will take that tree away.

The nonprofit tag sale at Fair Oaks School, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., is to benefit Boy Scout Troop 60.

Monday, Jan. 16

Town Hall will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King Day
