Campaign Notebook: 'Linda 2.0'

News and updates from the 2012 campaign trail in Connecticut.

Senate

Chris Murphy (D): Murphy has gained $16,000 since earlier this week, bringing his campaign fund total to $5.59 million, reports the New Haven Register. Democratic rival Susan Bysiewicz currently has $2.4 million.

Linda McMahon (R): Politico reports that McMahon has improved since her last campaign and is now "Linda 2.0". They say that this makeover has left the candidate more "toned down."

Second District

Joseph Courtney (D): Courtney was in northeastern Connecticut today touring farms and talking to farmers about the challenges they face, including the impact of rising energy costs. He visited farms in Putnam, Woodstock and North Grosvenordale and the Putnam Farmers Market. Courtney’s tour, which is a collaboration with the Connecticut Farm Bureau and included executive director Henry Talmadge, coincides with Congress’s consideration of reauthorization of the Farm Bill.
