Busy Week for Meetings in Montville

A Town Meeting on Thursday Is for Citizens to Vote on Proposed Bonds

Monday, June 20

The Economic Development Commission is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. in Room 203 of Montville Town Hall.

On the agenda is a discussion of organizing a Historical Scenic travel route as a tourism incentive, and a new effort to stimulate hiring in local business.

Tuesday, June 21

The Regional Dispatch Committee has scheduled a special meeting for 1:30 p.m., in Room 203 of Montville Town Hall. The main order of business is a presentation to potential regional partners.

The Housing Authority has its regular monthly meeting scheduled for 5 p.m. at Independence Village, 41 Milefski Drive.

The Town Administration/ Rules & Procedures Standing Committee is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. in Room 102 of Montville Town Hall.

The Board of Education’s Policy Committee will meet at 5:45 p.m. in the Superintendent’s Conference Room at Montville High School, to consider and vote on the policy on social networking.

The Board of Education meeting that had been scheduled for Tuesday has been canceled. The next regular meeting is scheduled for July 19.

The Board of Education will hold a special meeting, however, at 6 p.m., in the Montville High School library. On the agenda is a presentation by Adam Bowles, on a documentary he hopes to make, focusing on Asian English Language Learners in Montville.

Also on the agenda is the appointment of a preschool/elementary special services leader, a vote on the social networking policy, consideration of appointing a board of education member to the administrators’ negotiations committee, consideration of how the appointment of a new principal for the Murphy School will happen, and an increase of 5 cents in the cost of breakfast and lunch as required, and review of and adjustments to the 2011-2012 budget.

The Town Council has scheduled a special town meeting at 7 p.m. in the council chamber for taxpayers to:

The Public Works/Solid Waste Committee regular meeting has been canceled. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 27 at 5:30 p.m. in Room 102 of town hall.

At 6 p.m., the Inland Wetlands Commission will take a site walk at 1024 Grassy Hill Road, Oakdale.

The Public Safety Building Committee is scheduled to hold its regular meeting at 6 p.m. in Room 203 of town hall.

Friday, June 24

Saturday, June 25

The nonprofit tag sale at the Fair Oaks School, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., is to benefit the Center of the Blind.
