Budget Error Is Good News for Montville

Fixing the Error Reduces Proposed Mil Rate

In rechecking the proposed 2011-2012 budget one last time today, Finance Director Terry Hart found and fixed an error that ends up as good news for Montville.

An account that truly is revenue came in as a debit.

"The net impact of $143,000 in revenue reduces the mil rate," Hart said this morning.

The projected mil rate increase of .84 percent is reduced to .75 percent, she said. The mil rate itself goes from what had been projected at 23.24 mils to 23.15 mils.
