Montville Mayor Ron McDaniel discusses AES Thames, a position open in the Finance Department, and wings

Mayor Ron McDaniel spoke recently to Patch about a number of Montville topics:

which has declared Chapter 7 bankruptcy, which involves a dissolution of assets as opposed to a restructing of debt.

A trustee is appointed by the court, and will go through the same process – a sale of assets. Pretty much part and parcel of the same.

I did speak with the trustee, who is in the process of wrapping his arms around everything so that he can go to court with the plan.

On The Villages, the mixed-income housing development proposed for Route 32. McDaniel said he didn’t think it was the right time for a tax break, but:

I think it’s a good project for the town. Every town needs an affordable housing.

On an opening in the Montville Finance Office, advertised at the top pay grade:

I didn’t support that (the top pay grade), and I am working on that right now. It was advertised as one for one for what it was. I was not supportive of that, and I am addressing that.

Best wings in Montville? The Montville Patch held a contest last week to name the town’s best wing joint.

I like the Derby wings. The only two places I’ve had them is there and Laf’s Pizza.  I like wings, but I’m not allowed to eat them any more. I bake my own at home.
