A Busy Week for Municipal Meetings

Public safety, a housing community final site plan and town-wide trash pick up are all agenda items.

A busy week with myriad municipal meetings; busy for summer, that is.

On Monday, July 23, the Public Safety Commission meets at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers. The agenda includes an update on both the public safety building and the town’s public safety plan.

The Planning and Zoning Commission meets Tuesday, July 24 at 7, in Council Chambers and among other agenda items, action is expected on the final site plan for The Villages  -- a planned 120-unit affordable housing community.

Wednesday, July 25, the Public Works Solid Waste Standing Committee meets at 5:30 p.m. in Town Hall, room 102. Discussion on an RFP for town-wide trash pickup is anticipated, according to the agenda.

Also, on Wednesday, the Board of Education has a Special Meeting slated for 6 p.m. in the Superintendent’s Conference Room with a one-item agenda: a personnel matter.

The Public Safety Building Commission meets at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 26 in Town Hall, room 203. There’s as of yet no posted agenda.

Revman, This is a law to create a Voluntary Pension Plan. One in which many people have wanted andRead More need. I do not think anyone would support a mandatory pension plan in the state. It is all voluntary. A Senate Bill is just a technicality that has to be passed.
