Montville Police list roads that are closed and obstructed

Sgt. Matthew Northrup said today that trees are still falling and roads are still being closed. Lt. Leonard Bunnell said that Connecticut Light & Power has arrived this afternoon, and so the clearing of trees can begin in earnest.

The following roads are closed:

  • Massapeag Side Road at Massapeag Point Road
  • Golden Road, about half way down
  • Gallivan Lane at Pollys Lane, upper and lower
  • Old Fitch Hill Road, about at the center
  • Maple Avenue at Haley
  • Gutterman Road
  • Route 82 at the Bozrah line
  • Route 82 at Route 163
  • Terrace Drive
  • Turner Road near Route 85
  • Birch Terrace

The following roads are partly closed, Matthews said, down to one lane.

  • Pink Row near Route 32
  • Fitch Hill Road at Blais
  • Fitch Hill Road at Raymond Hill Road
  • Moxley Road at the 395 overpass
  • Route 163 neaer Robert Brown Road
  • Route 163 at Lynch Hill
  • Meetinghourse Lane near Route 163
  • Route 163 and Raymond Hill Road
  • East Lake Road and Fire Street
  • Fire Street, a mile west of East Lake
  • Oxoboxo Dam Road at Williams

Matthews reported that during the storm, five vehicles that were being driven were hit by falling trees; there were no injuries. Six cars in driveways were hit by falling trees.
