I had just left from BJ;s in Waterford and was on my way home when this car crash happened. It was around 4:30pm. I saw several firetrucks , policemen and ambulances go by. I had to take the back way home. It must have been a bad accident.

This comment was posted on the article on Waterford Patch by mom2all: Can anyone put the value of human life above politics and finish route 11? I care about the environment and all those things folks bring up to halt it. But as long as I can remember people have been losing their lives on what was once the road to Dairy Farms and Harry's Place. It is now a main passway to/from Crystal Mall, Millstone, EB, Pfizer and a lot of other places to Route 11 to Colchester, Hartford and lots of places that are where people go home to bedroom commmuities or come home from jobs that are located in Hartford, Windsor etc. We are no longer safe on this overcrowded stretch of highway from Salem to Waterford, new London area? Do not wait until it takes your loved one away. Back the politicians who will back Route 11 completion to save Human lives.

The accident occurred in the vicinity of skyline dreve. I don't understand why ther is still a passing zone in this area. There are three streets that intersect with rt 85 in this area, with multiple opportunities for cars to pull into the road while someone is in the passing lane. Why hasn't this passing zone been changed to solid double lines?
