Woman Charged with 'Risk of Injury' After Making 'Dangerous Maneuver' on I-395

Police Report Crashes, Arrests

At 3:50 p.m. on March 30, police arrested Estela R. Singer, 39, of Elmhurst, NY, and charged her with injury or risk or injury and impairing the morals of a child, motor vehicle violations, driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, reckless driving and reckless endangerment in the second degree.

The report says that police observed Singer making "a dangerous maneuver" across Interstate 395 southbound in Montville, exposing her son to serious harm. When police stopped her, the report says, she was found to be driving under the influence. She was assessed a $4,000 bond on the risk of injury charge, $500 on the DUI charge, $500 on the reckless driving charge and 5,000 on the reckless endangerment charge. An April 14 court date has been set.

At 12:36 a.m., police responded to a two-car accident on Interstate 395, just south of Exit 79A. A 2010 Honda Accord driven by Frank Pistecchia, 25, of 46 Lakeshore Drive, Eastchester, NY, and a 1982 Chevrolet K20, driven by Scott Zictorac, 30, of Versailles, collided entering the ramp to I-395 northbound. Zitorac was field-sobriety tested, the report says, and charged with driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.

At 4:45 p.m., police responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 32 and Fort Hill. A 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by Michael S. Bernier of 95 Depot Road, Uncasville, and a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Nicholas A. Zito of 41 Cherry Hill Road, Norwich, collided. The pickup was towed; there were no injuries.

March 28

At 2:32 p.m., police responded to the Rite Aid store on Route 32 in Montville, where, according to the police report, they found Linda Dorsey, 60, of Pond View Road, Moosup, in possession of $46.61 worth of merchandise. The report says that the alarm had gone off while Dorsey was leaving the store. She was taken into custody and charged with larceny in the sixth degree. A $500 surety bond was assessed, and she was given an April 7 court date.

March 30

At 12:40 a.m., police arrested Jessy T. Harasyn, 22, of 1 Concord Court, Groton, on a warrant charging criminal mischief in the second degree. The arrest came on Mohegan Sun Blvd. He was assessed a $15,000 surety bond and given a court date of April 14.

At 7:30 a.m., police responded to Maple Avenue and Route 32 for a report of a school bus/passenger car accident.

A car driven by Matthew Santos, 34, of Norwichtown, and a Montville school bus driven by Deonna White of New London, collided. There were no injuries.

March 31

At 4 p.m., police responded to 51 Laurel Drive, Montville, where they arrested Diane Noblera, 43, and Jose Morales, 40, both of the Laurel Drive address, and charged them with disorderly conduct. Morales was also charged with assault. Noblera was assessed a $500 cash bond and given an April 1 court date; Morales was charged a $1,000 cash bond and also given an April 1 court date.

At 1:59 p.m., police responded to Interstate 395 for a report of a three-vehicle accident. A 1995 GMC Jimmy driven by Lyle Gregware,  53, of 105 Oneco St., New London, a 1999 Volkswagen Jetta driven by Elaine Da Costa, 27, of Clinton, and a 2001 Kia Sephia driven by Barbara Skiles, 63, of 453 Bayonet St., New London, collided near Exit 79. All vehicle sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene. Gregware was taken to Backus Hospital, the report says, for complaint of neck pain.

At 2:06 a.m., Montville Police arrested David K. An, 27, of 52 Rhodes St., New Britain, and charged him with driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, and failure to drive right. He was assessed a $500 nonsurety bond on the DUI charge, and given an April 19 court date. The arrest came after a motor vehicle stop on Route 32.
