Video: Fire Truck In The Mud

Goshen truck is mired at Harkness Family Day

Sunday, at Family Day at Harkness Park, Goshen Fire Chief Neil Wiseman was encouraged to drive his firetruck in the middle of a field, close to all the action.

It turned out to not work so well. The firetruck got stuck in the mud, thanks to some heavy rains over the last week.

After all the water was sprayed out, a Goshen brush truck tried to pull the firetruck out of the mud, but didn’t have the power. Guys tried to dig out behind the tire, and put a log behind the back tire, but that didn’t work either. So finally, Niantic River Transmission was called, and using its wrecker, finally, with  managed to pull the truck out.

And while the truck was a little dirty, the only real victim of the ordeal was the field.
