Uncasville Woman Dies in I-395 Crash

Edwina Maryeski died in a one-vehicle crash on I-395 today, according to Connecticut State Police

Edwina Maryeski, of 33 Hewitt Drive, Uncasville, was killed this afternoon in a single-car crash on Interstate 395 South, according to Connecticut State Police.

A report issued by police said that Maryeski was driving south on 395, in the left lane when her 2003 Subaru Legacy drifted to the left at Exit 79A and onto the median.

It then continued to the right, across two lanes of traffic, across the Exit 79A on ramp, and collided with the guard rail on the right side of the on-ramp.

After hitting the guard rail, the car continued south and came to a final rest in the right shoulder against the right guard rail just south of the Exit 79A on-ramp.

The report says that police have not determined whether Maryeski, who was 73, "succumbed (as the result of) a medical condition or (as a result of) fatal injuries from the motor vehicle collision."

The case remains under investigation.

I-395, which was closed for several hours following the crash, has reopened.
