State Police Report a Quiet Night

No Crashes or Spinouts in the Area, State Police Say

The Connecticut State Police dispatcher at Troop E reported a very quiet night, in spite of the near-freezing overnight temperatures and the rain and snow that fell Tuesday.

"Nothing," was the response when the dispatcher was asked about crashes and spin-outs overnight, a trend the early television news was reporting.

"Not in our area," she said.

The NBC-30 morning news reports trouble on heavily traveled roads and highways. In addition, though the temperature is just above freezing, parking lots and sidewalks are covered with ice, because the ground is still well below freezing.

Called three times between 5:20 a.m. and 5:40 a.m., Montville Police Dispatch did not answer.
